Bafana Bafana international Thabang Matuludi as well Os Mambas midfielder, Manuel Kambala, have both exited the African Cup of Nations in Morocco.
South Africa and Mozambique crashed out of the tournament in the last 16 stage through the hands of Cameroon and Nigeria respectively.
Although Matuludi did not feature in the starting line-up nor as a substitute for Bafana Bafana in the AFCON, the right back collected much needed experience for himself for his bright future ahead.
For Os Mambas, however, the 34-year-old Manuel Kambala earned himself a place in the starting XI for their opening match of the tournament against defending champions Ivory Coast which ended as a 1–0 defeat.
The experienced midfielder was also introduced as a second-half substitute in the second group game against Gabon and again in the round-of-16 clash versus the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The exit of both South Africa and Mozambique in the last 16 served as the end of the road for the two Rise and Shine star players after proudly representing their nations at the biggest stage in the continent.
